Colombia Magdalena
Magdalena is located on the Atlantic Coast in Northern
Colombia. Elan Organic Coffees purchases coffee from
Tayronaca, a group of growers within Cooperative Magdalena.
The diverse surrounding environment includes the Magdalena
River, swamps and the Sierra Nevada mountain range of Santa
Marta. Sierra Nevada is one of the highest mountains on the
coast. UNESCO named the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta the
"Reserve of the Man and the Biosphere." The organic crops
grown here not only improve the quality of life for the
coffee farmers, but also preserve the beautiful region.
